WORLD KZ CHAMPIONSHIP. ARDIGO FIRST BEFORE DEMOTED TO 16TH.
At the KZ World Karting Championship at Le Mans, our KZ team drivers have completed their heats in very competitive fashion today, demonstrating the very high level of the teams equipment. With a first and second from two heats, Marco Ardigo earned the right to start the prefinal from grid 1.
However, unfortunately was excluded from the second heat. The reason for the exclusion more than 90 minutes after the heat was that Ardigo raised his hand on the grid to request an additional formation lap due to the wet conditions. This gesture from our driver was made entirely by the reigning world champion from a safety viewpoint, as a heavy rain shower left the track wet only moments earlier with most drivers on slick tyres.
This gesture cost our driver dearly, who was excluded from the heat costing him a front row start for the prefinal. Flavio Camponeschi will start the prefinal from the second row having finished 3rd in his two heats, Ardigo relegated to 16th position.
