Tony Kart celebrates the WSK Euro Series with a podium

On the occasion of the first round of the championship, at the Franciacorta Karting Track in Castrezzato (Italy), our Tony Kart Rookie hits the second place in the MINI Gr.3 class with the official driver Leonardo Gorski.

Our Tony Kart Racing Team's set of podiums constantly continues also during the first round of the WSK Euro Series. At the Franciacorta Karting Track in Castrezzato (Italy), the Tony Kart Rookie-Vortex VTM pairing conquered the silver medal in the final of the MINI Gr.3 class. Good performance also for our Tony Kart Racer 401 RR in the OK class, powered by the VTS engine of the OTK Kart Group's "engine division".

In the MINI Gr.3 category, Leonardo Gorski and Oliver Sini are the main protagonists of the category during the whole the weekend. Both drivers collect a win and a third place in the qualifying heats and are placed in the top-5 of the intermediate ranking; in addition, the Indonesian driver triumphs in the B pre-final on Sunday morning, while the Polish man finishes the A pre-final in fourth place.
The first laps of the final soon see Gorski coming to the fore: after the start he gains the third position, moves up to second place after a few corners and, at the end of the second lap, takes the lead. In the following laps, our driver performs a strong fight for victory and, at the waving of the chequered flag, he finishes in second place. Sini, on the other hand, is driven off the track by a rival on the opening lap slipping to the back of the group. However, with much grit, he is able to recover not less than 14 positions finishing in the top ten. Better and better performance for Henri Kumpen during the Italian event, with the Belgian driver missing the scoring zone for a while in the final.

In the MINI Gr.3 U10 category, Linghan Li shines in the B-D heat thanks to a 16-place comeback, jumps 23 places in the intermediate ranking at the end of the eliminatory heats and finishes fifth in the A pre-final. Due to an injury of the previous days, Tiberius Müller cannot attend the race weekend as a precautionary measure.

In OK class, the American Blake Nash scores a sixth place as best result in the qualifying heats and finishes the final close to the top-10, after having gained six places from his starting box. Interesting results also comes from Thomas Quincé, training in view of his next scheduled commitments.

The Tony Kart Racing Team will once more be back on track again this weekend (4th – 7th July), to face the first round of the FIA Karting European Championship for KZ-KZ2 categories in Alcañiz, Spain.
