Double success for Tony Kart in UK and Italy

On the occasion of the final round of the Champions of the Future Euro Series in Brandon, our Racer 401 RR wins the OKJ category final. At the WSK Super Cup in Franciacorta, the Rookie triumphs in the MINI Gr.3 U10 class and comes third in the MINI Gr.3.

The 2024 edition of the Champions of the Future Euro Series ends with another success for the Tony Kart Racing Team. In the last round of the championship, at the PF International Kart Circuit in Brandon (UK), our Tony Kart Racer 401 RR takes the top step of the podium in the OKJ category, powered by Vortex's VTJ unit. The “Racer” also goes on the track in OK, equipped with the VTS engine of the OTK Kart Group's “engine division.”

In OKJ category, right from qualifyings, it is Scott Marsh one of the main protagonists of the category. The British driver immediately obtains the best time in Group 4 of the timing practices and, thanks to a haul of five podiums in total, earns second place at the end of the qualifying heat. Having also filed Sunday's super heat, Marsh secures the third row on the grid for the final, which sees him in the lead just two laps after the lights go out. Our driver is able to lead the race excellently, confirming that he is faster than the fierce chasers, and crosses the finish line first.

Putting aside a complicated qualifying session, Joel Pohjola redeems himself in the qualifying heat with a 38-position comeback in the intermediate standings. In the final, despite being forced to start from the back of the grid, the Finnish driver climbs an impressive 19 positions and earns a top-10 finish. Second in Group 2 of the qualifyings, Ilie Tristan Crisan is consistently at the top of the class and takes part in Sunday afternoon's final.

Oliver Rasmussen has a good weekend while Augustus Toniolo and Thomas Pradier continue their training for the FIA Karting World Championship, as well as Caio Zorzetto who makes his debut with our Racing Team.

In OK class, David Walther opens the weekend with the third fastest time in Group 2 of qualifyings and records a third place and two fast laps in qualifying, but a stop in the third heat and a collision in the last one ruin his roster. Nevertheless, the Danish driver grabs a top-5 in super heat A and earns a pass to the final. Usually involved in the shifter classes, Tom Leuillet also shows good pace in the single-gear and enters the last race of the weekend. Xavier Avramides, Nash Blake, Tiziano Monza and Maria Germano Neto focus on developing the technical material for the following week's FIA Karting World Championship. An accident (without serious consequences) in the second heat, however, forces Gabriel Stilip to withdraw from the event.

On the same weekend, at the Franciacorta Karting Track in Castrezzato (Italy), the WSK Super Cup on single round is held, where our drivers win the title in the MINI Gr.3 U10 class and the bronze medal in the MINI Gr.3, at the wheel of the Tony Kart Rookie powered by the Vortex VTM engine.

In the MINI Gr.3 U10, Jean Poujol is the author of an extraordinary debut with our official colours. The French driver, fourth in Group 1 timing practices, wins two eliminatory heats and enters the final securing the third starting position on the grid. At the start of the final race, Poujol immediately jumps to second place and is constantly involved in the battle for victory. On the last lap, our driver completely resets the gap from the leader, attacks him with two corners to go and with a perfect tactic takes the victory under the checkered flag.

Lin Linghan and Tiberius Müller have an all-growing weekend and work tirelessly alongside our staff. Also taking part in the race with our sports division is the German Henri Mohring.

In the MINI Gr.3 class, Leonardo Gorski distinguishes himself in the qualifying heats with a win, two second places and a fastest lap, results that earned him the second position in the intermediate standings, later confirmed by placing second in the B pre-final. With a third place, two best laps in the eliminatory heats and the success in the second pre-final, Oliver Sini earns the top-5 in the overall standings.

In the final, Sini moves up to third place after a few bends and, several times during the race, takes the lead. Gorski, on the other hand, consistently occupies fourth place and runs with the leading trio. Under the checkered flag, at the end of the sprint, Sini is third, followed at one-tenth of a second by Gorski, fourth position.

In his first appearance on the track with our Racing Team, Edoardo Colucci also participates in the final, having shown during the heats an excellent potential.

The 2024 season of the Tony Kart Racing Team continues with the highly awaited FIA Karting World Championship reserved for the OK and OKJ categories, scheduled for September 12th to 15th at the PF International Karting Circuit, in the United Kingdom.
