The World Champion for KF1 category Flavio Camponeschi was awarded on Friday, the 7th of December at Istanbul (Turkey) with the official FIA prize. The young driver from the Tony Kart Racing Team received his prize during the great FIA gala night, an unforgettable evening, during which also the nine-time-world champion of rally Sebastièn Loeb and the three-time-F1 world champion Sebastian Vettel were awarded. Camponeschi was given the official FIA Trophy for his World title for KF1 category by the FIA vice President Angelo Sticchi Damiani. Celebrations went on until his return to Italy with Camponeschi’s participation in the Autosprint ceremony for the “Golden Helmets”. Actually, the prestigious magazine in the motorsports field assigned to the Tony Kart Racing Team’s driver the well known “statuette representing the driver keeping his arms crossed”.

“I spent an unforgettable night at Istanbul. Each champion was awarded after having been introduced by a stunning short film. Having been awarded next to champions such as Vettel and Loeb was really unbelievable for me. The most exciting moment of the night came with the calling of my name for the prize giving.... I was moved also when Loeb was called for his award, everybody made a standing ovation for ten minutes. Deservedly of course! To the Fia ceremony followed the Golden Helmet of Autosprint, which also gives me great satisfaction, and for this I wish to thank the editors-in-chief Mr Sabbatini and all the editorial staff of the magazine, which came to me for this prize. I dedicate both prizes to my family, to the Tony Kart Racing Team Staff, to Mr Robazzi and to Mr Corona.”
